  • Relationship btwn fat, fatty acids, lipids, triglycerides?

How are all of the above molecules/compounds related?

Which are a subcategory of which, and which are more-or-less synonymous etc, and what are some nutritionally or biologically relevant examples?

  • EndNote stopped working in Word 2007?

I was using EndNote in Word in Microsoft Office Word 2007, using it quite extensively (document with 150+ references) and then at some point it crashed and so did Word, and when I restarted it the tab at the top that used to say "EndNote" is gone, and I can't get references from my EndNote library into Word like I used to be able to. What the hell can I do?????

  • What is latin for "Truth for truth's sake"?

What is latin for "Truth for truth's sake"?

'Veritas <whatever the rest of the phrase is>'

And, is this a 'phrase', or when put into latin is it more or less an arbitrary grouping of words like the vast majority of other imaginable sentences.

    Thanks

  • In PowerPoint, is there a way to view notes pages while giving a presentation, while the audience cant?

Is there a way, when giving a presentation using PowerPoint on an overhead projector so that you, on the laptop, can see the notes to every slide, while the audience looking at the overhead projection can see only the slides, and not the notes???

  • Very Fundamental Question on Special Relativity?

Einstein's Special Relativity, and its all consequences was derived from (or I suppose you might say, amounts to), two postulates:

    (i) The Principle of Relativity

(ii) The Principle of Invariant Light Speed

How is it so that the second postulate is not superfluous and redundant and simply a specific instance of the first postulate? By this I mean, the first postulate states, essentially (please correct me if I am over-simplifying this), that the laws of physics are the same for any observer in an inertial reference frame.

Can we not say that c, the speed of light, is one such law?

If this is the case, then why is the second postulate necessary at all; in this case, does not the second postulate derive logically from the first? i.e., if the laws of physics are independent of one's inertial frame, and if the speed of light is assumed to be one such law of physics, then should it not be naturally expected that the speed of light is invariant??

  • Hypothetical question regarding star travel, acceleration, and c?

Suppose that the technology was available to construct a spacecraft that had a maximum speed of something significant with respect to c, say 0.5c. Let's suppose that that spacecraft is a manned spacecraft.

Am I correct in thinking that there's nothing intrinsically life-prohibiting abut a human travelling inside a vessel that has a constant velocity of 0.5c? And would I also be correct in thinking that the only potentially prohibiting aspect of the situation would be actually reaching that velocity in anything remotely resembling a timely fashion. i.e. that the only potentially restrictive element here would be any enormous acceleration involved, and that if the velocity of 0.5c was reached by acceleration at a level acceptable to humans, then there would be nothing intrinsically limiting to the situation?

  • Books on the Big Bang Theory?

I want to learn about cosmology in general, about the nature of the singularity, about theories as to the origin of the singularity (if it makes sense to talk about it this way, I mean bubble universes, black hole universes, eternal universes, multiverses, etc), and only to a lesser extent about the history of the science. It seems that the only books I can find on the topic decide to tackle issue from a historic perspective; I just want to know the facts of the science, and the relevent hypotheses.

    What books would you recommend?

  • Has anyone seen a prehistoric world globe?

i.e., a globe of the world in a past geological era. I'm trying to find a globe, or a set of globes that depict the world as it was at certain times in the paleozoic and mesozoic. So, firstly, has anyone ever seen a globe like this? And secondly, if you have, do you know where one can be acquired from?

  • How many pokemon can you remember from your childhood?!?

I was just mucking around on the internet, right, on these forums, and someone's signature had this pokemon in it. And I was shocked to find that, not only did I recognise it quite clearly, but I could remember its name. It was Evee! I think, little dog one. And then I got to thinking, how good is my memory of pokemon? And I could actually remember the names of 47 of them, lol. I'm 21 now, and I wasn't even that big of a pokemon fan when I was a little kid.

I guess it's just one of those amazing things about childhood obsessions/fads. Never really goes out of your mind.

How many pocket monsters can you remember?!?!?!? or any similar stories about childhood fads, or weird shit.

  • on msn messenger can you tell when someone's put you on ignore?

For instance, when you send a message to an account that has you on ignore will you be alerted that this person has put you on ignore? Or will it only be evident from failing to get a reply for a long period of time! Or is there another way to find out

  • How does one accidentally text the 'wrong' person?

I was just wondering what has to happen for someone to accidentally send a text to a person that they didnt intend to send that text to. I mean, I'm sure its going to depend on the phone and the exact set-up/interface/how you actually send a text on that particular phone.

The reason I ask is that this girl keeps sending me texts that 'supposedly' were meant for someone else, and I dont know what to make of it. When I reply back telling her that she's sent it to the wrong person, she usually asks me something, or comments or something else, trying to get a further response/reply from me.

So, could you accidentally text the wrong person if you were reading a text in your inbox and then replied to that somehow thinking you were replying to another, or

I guess, if you just clicked the wrong person's name accidentally/subconsciously when you were selecting the recipient?

Do any girls out there employ this sly tactic?

  • What's the best way to....?

There's this girl that I met at this course which we both went to. I sort of got the feeling she was into me, and I was into her. Nothing happened, and we never really hung out outside of the course. The course finished a while back and we haven't seen each other since. We did text a little, but haven't texted since. The question is, if I text her, what could I say? Is it a little weird to text someone like that after a number of months to just ask how theyr'e doing?
