Photoshop wont let me change colour. Help?
I'm using photoshop CS4. For some reason no matter what colour I choose it stays GREEN, no matter what brush either. So I tried to close and reopen the program but that didn't fix it, so I tried with a different image and even that didn't fix it. Help? I'm thinking I must have clicked something as it was working fine 10 minutes ago.
Now it wont let me paint any colour other than with bucket fill. xD
I tried those two things that you suggested but it's still not working. I filled the background with purple and then selected the paintbrush tool and black... but for some reason it painted white. So I tried another colour and it still stayed white. I don't know. It seems that everything is just messed up.

It's possiblt that your available colors has been reduced because a color setting (usually to make the file small). Try to find your color setting menu and set it to RGB - 8 or 16 bit or to 16.7 million colors. That's the only solution I can think of off hand, however, it could be some sort of tool or color setting (you know how you can set gradients and patterns, there may be some sort of color override to the color you've selected).

**Save first**
Fill your top layer with a random colour (Edit > Fill...) Let's say... Blue Then look where the colour palletes are, there's a mini black & white one. click that to reset the colours. Now choose the Eyedropper tool ( i ) and click the the layer you just filled the blue with.
If one of the pallettes change colour then you're fine.

there is what seems to be 2 sheets of paper, close to the backside of your palette. click on a sort of and you'd be waiting to elect your colour. shouldn't remember which colour you elect, white could continually be the top left nook. blend R, G and B with the numbers 255 and which could supply the brightest white.
