Skyrim One-handed levelling Help?

Would i get more experience from hitting with my iron dagger over and over, or from killing things with my daedric war axe? basicly is it damage that matters or the number of hits

    Just keep playing. No need to rush leveling.

    Every time u hit an enemy and do some damage, u get some increase in the skill involved. There are some algorythms involved which determine how much increase. I haven't delved into that yet.

    its amount of times hit, its like do you level your archery by firing arrows or how many arrows hit?

    i think it is more hits that matters.dont qoute me on that tho
