The world won't end in 2012.

The whole idea of this started with the myans. They loved to study the stars and make calendars. The idea of the world ending in 2012 was because one of the MANY calendars the myans made ended. What do youdo when a calendar ends? You get a new calendar.

Also, if something were to crash into the earth this year, we would already be able to look into the sky and see it with our baked eyes. NASA has already released a lot of information on how you should not be worried about the world ending in 2012; I urge you to look it up if you are still concerned.

There really is no information out there supporting the idea of the world ending, except for the fact that a mayan calendar ended. Again, when you finish a calendar, you get a new one. There is nothing to worry about.

The world isn't going to end this year. The "2012" myth is based on a false belief about the meaning of the ancient Mayan calendar coming to an end on Dec. 21st. Some say that because this 2000-odd year old calendar ends it means the end of the world. This is a combination of utter foolishness, a stupid movie, and malicious people spreading false ideas.

The true fact is that the Mayan calendar simply ends and starts counting over, just like ours ends in December and starts counting over again in January. No difference. No end of world. Business as usual, end of argument. The Mayans couldn't even predict their own demise over 1,000 years ago, much less the end of the world. In fact, they left behind no prophesies whatsoever. In addition to that, no one can predict the end of the world any more accurately than you can predict the weather in Toledo on a specific day 100 years from now.

However, the world ends for about 128,000 people every single day worldwide for various reasons. If you meet your "end of world" in 2012, bad luck and my sympathy to you. If it happens to any or all of those who believe in or propagate foolish prophesies, it will be poetic justice and good riddance. The world would be better off without such people.

It will end but i dont think 2012. Drastic climate changes have led to extinction of many major civilizations from the face of earth. May be another climate change along with an asteroid collision can do the job.

No, it was proven wrong by scientists and the myans never finished the calendar.
