Hot glue gun isn't hot enough?

Hot glue gun details:

Colt Power Tools

Model: KL-1012

Rated input: 30watt

Rated Volt: 230V

Problem:

After half an hour of heating up, the glue still isn't hot.

It comes out soft but not so sticky. It sort of burns but its nothing compared to other hot glue guns I have used. When I try to stick things together, it cools rapidly and doesn't stick.

Help anyone?

Update:

Also the glue isn't stringy like how it should be

Update 2:

I've plugged it into many different voltage outlets, trust me, I've tried

Are you sure you have it plugged into a 220 volt outlet? It sounds like you are using a standard outlet.
