Pay what you have to pay, but get it ant way you can. We have a limit of ONE 20 round box of .223 ammo, per day, where I live, so I use a lot of gas and go back every day just hoping there will be another box tomorrow. It sucks, but I'm getting ammo any way I can.

The prices are only going to get worse, so decide what you can live without. You'll be surprised at just how much CRAP you don't really need.

Right now? If you can find it at all, it's a good price. It's simply not particularly available, so if the cheapest you'll find it right now is $2 per round, then that's the best deal you'll get, unless you have a LOT of patience.

Should have bought your ammo six months ago.

You can still find Federal XM193 (5.56x45 55-grain FMJ BT) at $8.99 for box of 20.

You just have to be in the store within the first hour after opening.

Couple months late on that one. Out of: A) good prices, B) in stock, and C) good quality, you can only choose one right now for 5.56. Two if you're lucky.
