  • Help me identify a song I heard? (Modern pop/ EDM, like Deadmau5)?

Before I say anything, I'll say I'm not a fan of this genre (I'm a classic rock and metal guy), but I appreciate many genres and like to expand my knowledge. I heard one song in particular at a public event a while back, and I just can't figure out what it is.

I know the song sounds VERY similar to Deadmau5's song "Ghost's n' stuff". In fact, the song I heard may very well sample the synth chords/melody in Deadmau5's song. The song I heard had male and female vocals.

Unfortunately, that's about all the information I can recall. Thanks in advance for the efforts/suggestions!

  • Help with ideal gases (simple thermo question)?

So, an ideal gas is contained in a bottle (pressure in the bottle is 1.29 times the atmospheric pressure). When the bottle is opened, the gas is expelled and the pressure inside the bottle is reduced to the atmospheric pressure. What is the temperature of the gas inside the bottle immediately after the pressure is released?

  • Simple question- Normal price of bulk .22 lr?

I've always just gone straight for the CCI mini mags (sticks of 100) because they are high quality and that's what my store normally carries. But I recently heard that bulk packs (500-550 rounds) are like under $30 retail? Since I havent ever purchased one and they obviously arent in stock here, I was just wondering about the brand, number of rounds, and price of different bulk packs that may be available. I'm looking for walmart prices especially. Thanks!

  • What about these (offensive) bible passages?

    Hello,

I've recently discovered a number of passages in the bible from various websites that say a lot of really misogynistic stuff. such as (but CERTAINLY not limited to):

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. She must be quiet." (1 Timothy 2:12)

"Wives should be subordinate to their husbands as to the Lord." (Ephesians 5:22)

They are certainly real bible quotes. Are the followers of the bible actually supposed to heed these words? Isn't the bible supposed to be the word of god? are these in some other (more acceptable) context in the bible or are they supposed to actually mean what they say?

  • What do people use Hormel pigs feet for?

I have seen Hormel's jars of pickled pig's feet at the grocery store before. I was just curious what people use them for? They appear to be edible without further preparation. If they didn't sell, Hormel would probably stop making them (and just grind them up to put in their other meat products).

  • What is the live fire exercise like in hunter's safety course?

This weekend, I will be doing a hunter's education course with my girlfriend. I have extensive experience with firearms, but I have never hunted- So I am not personally worried about passing the live fire exercise.

But my girlfriend has very little experience shooting. We've been shooting together twice, both times we just shot our shotguns and she shot maybe 100 rounds on my scoped 10/22 and scoped mosin.

So I was just curious how difficult the live fire exercise is and what it consists of- Could a girl without any experience shooting rifles with open sights easily pass? I will try to take her shooting this week to get her some practice with my open-sighted .22, but im still a bit afraid that she won't perform well. Thanks!

  • Recommend some bands like:?

Hello, I've been a long time fan of some of the older stuff- Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and some newer stuff too like White Stripes and Jack White's other bands. Now I'm widening my horizons towards metal/rock, and i'd like some recommendations on other artists I might like.

I am looking for band that are 1) catchy to a rock/metal listener and melodic 2) atmospheric

Think rock/metal that is similar to the following bands that I've come to enjoy recently:

    Baroness

    Mastodon

    Kylessa

    Kvelertak

    Royal Thunder

    Thanks for the recommendations!

  • Satistics linear regression concept question?

From the choices below, the best reason for not making estimates of the response for values of the predictor variable that are outside of the valid prediction range is:

    a)The predictor variable is undefined

b)The characteristics of the model may change

c)There is no rationale, estimates can be made anywhere the predictor variable is defined

d)Points outside the VPR are outliers

e)Points outside the VPR are too far away from (x,y)

    f)The response variable is undefined

    Thanks for the help!!!

  • What's weed like?

I've never smoked weed before and I don't really plan on smoking any. People totally lose motivation in life when they pick up weed smoking as I've witnessed many, many times. But what is weed really like compared to, say, alcohol? If you smoke in the morning, then do you feel horrible a few hours later when it's worn off? If you smoke weed regularly, have you noticed a loss of personal motivation in your life pursuits?

  • Newbie to guitar pedals- suggestions?

    Newbie to guitar pedals- recommendations?

Hi, I've had my strat and line 6 amp for about 5 years now, and due to school and such, I'm just now starting to get to the point where I can really play a number of songs fairly well. But I don't feel that my amp effects can really cut it for solos and such. So I'd really just like some advice about what pedal(s) I should purchase. I would like to be able to play some Zeppelin and White Stripes (I don't really need to sound just like Page or anything, but I need something that will make the solos sound good). I was looking at a Digitech whammy, mainly for the Whitestripes stuff- will that suffice to add a bit of distortion and rich solos for the Zeppelin stuff too, or should look at something different?

  • How do I legally kill pest rabbits in my backyard (for food)?

I live in a normal neighborhood and have an average backyard. The neighborhood is overrun with cottontails and they often venture into our yard to eat our grass and flowers. I have a pellet gun that is more than sufficiently accurate and powerful (and quiet enough so as to not disturb the neighbors), but I'm just not sure if its the best idea if its illegal. But theoretically is it legal to shoot a rabbit with a pellet gun in your backyard as they are a pest? If not is it legal if I purchase a small game license and only shoot them in season (cottontails arent in season year round here)?

  • Best not-so-sweet mead?

HI all! I'm new to mead in general. I've tried Kurpiowski mead, which I liked very much, but I just feel that it was too sweet to really drink more than a small glass of. Can anyone recommend a somewhat less sweet (more dry/crisp) mead that is still very good and preferably lower in price <$20/bottle?

  • Rifled shotgun? What's the cheapest one I can get?

I'm a rifle guy, so shotguns really are new to me. I just want to find the cheapest shotgun that's fully rifled (for slug shooting only obviously). I want to be able to mount a low-power scope, so I can hopefully shoot reasonably accurately at up to 200 yards or so- or 300 if I'm really lucky. I'm not going to hunt- just want one for fun. I'd also prefer if it was semi-automatic, or magazine- fed, if at all possible...... What's the best option? I've heard that people can shoot at 300 with 4" grouping- Is any regular rifled shotgun with sabot slugs really that accurate?
