Poetry: Do you try mind over matter sometimes?

Of Venice

Just a sun-puff across the square,

past the wild pigeons of St. Mark's,

is a quieter place for us,

a short journey; we may embark.

We dance in step up stairs and stop

atop a bridge where we can talk,

as gondolas slip-slather by

beneath our feet; below the hawk.

Bells resonate, peal demonstrates

we all ring-run down the calle.

Eclipse the noise, we find a shop

of finesse and delicacy.

Artists and craftsmen, hands of skill.

Glass beads, quite splendid and unique

made before eyes filled with wonder

made in the Bright Soul boutique

A deep blue forever keepsake

I clasp in gold around your neck

to honor your beauty and love

and show my eternal respect.

Can we glide together aboard

a gondola that slips through dreams

making love tunnel memories?

It can't be as hard it seems.

Years ago, an old man I was talking to when I was on holiday in Malta, told me that I should make every effort to travel to Venice before I went to my grave. It has been an unfulfilled wish so far. You took me there Andy with this beautiful write. Either you have been there or you have researched the place well. Mind over matter? Oh yes please. It worked well for me here. I was on that bridge and I wore the necklace. Thank you.

My Venice poem, written three years ago: It took me a while to find it

Take me my love to Venice,

to make my dreams come true.

Take me on a warm spring day

    when skies are sapphire blue.

Let the breeze blow in my hair,

let me laugh without a care.

Hold my hand and lead me there,

    before my days are through.

    Seat me in a gondola

with you close by my side.

    Read to me sweet poetry

    of love which never dies.

Tell me that you care for me,

tell me how on bended knee,

in your soul I'll always be

come all of time or tides.

Andy, y'paint a fine picture...very well done, son!

I would proffer a wee recommendation that instead of a second made in S4/L4, you consider something like:

"right there at the Bright Soul boutique"

And, unlike Cassie, what first endeared Venice to me was a boat chase scene through the canals in Alistair McLean's Puppet on a Chain. Still...like Cassie...it remains unchecked on my bucket list!

My imagination has always been my favorite travel agent, not only has it taken me anywhere in world at any time, in the Past, Present or Future. It as aloud me to do whatever I wished, when I arrived.

Venice looks to be a beautiful place, I may visit it this evening.

Looks as though we may both use the same agency.

    This is a sweet poem

I gather Bright Soul is a real place.

Two lines that hit home for me, S5, L3&4

to honor your beauty and love

    and show my eternal respect

    a special person indeed

    Congrat
