linkedin profile different from resume?
Question: I have recently been displaced from my employer of many years. I am qualified to do many things in my industry, but LinkedIn only allows one profile. A hiring manager recently addressed the discrepancy between the resume he received via email and the LinkedIn profile. (The only difference is in job titles). One title sounds a bit more important than the other, and the tasks can be performed in both titles for many organizations. I explained to him that the roles overlap significantly, and that I can perform either or both.
Any other ideas in case this ever comes up again?
Please advise.

I just read an article yesterday about maximizing your LinkedIn profile (sorry, I don't have the exact article). But something it said that should differentiate your resume from your LinkedIn profile is that a resume should be concise and targeted toward a specific job if possible. A LinkedIn profile on the other hand is an opportunity to be as detailed as you possibly can be. So whereas a resume you put the skills and experience relevant to the job you are trying to get, your LinkedIn profile, put everything.
