How many marriages do you need in life?

one good one.....................................

How many you "need" = 0. How many you should have if you're going to take the plunge = 1.

I need just one.  I have that and have for decades.  I want nothing more than that.

More than one and you should check yourself into a metal institution...

"Need"? There is no 'need'. If you 

find the right person, the one who 

"completes you", then if the two of 

you really and truly can commit to 

each other for the remainder of your 

lifetime, then marrying makes sense. 

Otherwise, why bother?

Zero. I need intimacy and respect. I don't need a ring. Marriage makes it much harder to just up and leave if the other person decides to start treating you differently and disrespect you. If you want to maintain the respect in your relationship, never get married. 

Just one, if you get it right. 

None, I do not need a marriage to be complete.

Preferably one, sometimes two. You could argue if it goes beyond that you may not be making the right choices in a person.
