  • Replace dried out grease in a vintage Elgeet 13mm f/1.5?

I got an amazing deal on a “for repair” Elgeet 13mm f/1.5. The problem with this lens is that the focusing mechanism is nearly frozen. Aperture works great.

I was wondering if anyone had a diagram or instructions on how to open this lens and replace the old grease?

Also, what are things that I need to be aware of when I open a lens? I have never done this before.

Lastly, what kind of replacement grease should I use?

    Thanks!

Anyone have a Wiring Guide for Vintage MIJ (Made in Japan) Guitar (Teisco EP-8T)?

I am almost done restoring this vintage Teisco EP-8T. I was just wondering if anyone here had a wiring diagram for this? It has two single-coil pickups, a rocker pickup selector switch, and a tone and volume knob.

I have uploaded a photo of the front of the controls.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this? :) Thanks!

  • Best Micro Four Thirds (MFT) Cinematography Camera?

I know that the Blackmagic Production, Pocket, and Pocket 4K use the MFT lens mount but I was just wondering what other companies (besides Blackmagic) out there use the MFT lens mount?

My only stipulation is the fact that it has to shoot at least 4K.

60p and RAW are nice but not necessary. I will probably use it mostly in 24p.

I like Blackmagic (as I have one) but I would like to know what other companies are out there!

  • Help planning an Easter Photoshoot with a friend! :)?

I am planning a fun, easter/spring-themed portrait photoshoot with a good friend (female).

Since have never done a Spring/Easter photo session before, I was wondering if someone had some good spring-like poses/vibes/colors and ideas to help spark some creativity? :)

    Thanks!

What connector is this on this hard drive? *pics (Toshiba MK1503GAL)?

I found this old mini hard drive from a vintage Sharp laptop. It is much smaller than a standard 2.5" laptop drive. The connector looks either like a CompactFlash or a mini IDE.

My question is, how do I get the data off of this drive? This does not fit in a CompactFlash reader due to the size of the drive.

  • Apple Watch doesn't turn on after battery replacement ?

I just got an Apple Watch Series 2 that had a swollen battery that popped the watch face off.

I took the battery out and replaced it with a new one.

The "green snake" ("charge me please") shows up on the screen and eventually turns off.

However, once I turn on the watch, the logo shows up for 3-4 seconds then turns off and the watch never gets beyond this point.

It was working great before the old battery died.

  • How to focus a Nikon 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S (at f/1.2) on Nikon DF?

I have a really neat manual focus Nikon 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S on a Nikon DF.

I have no problem focusing this (using Nikon's green arrow/dot focusing points) manually at f/3.5 or larger (which looks incredible). However, when I try to open this up at f/1.2 - 2.0 I miss 90% of the shots because they are out of focus even if the green dot focus point says it is in focus.

Other than swapping out the focusing screen to a split focusing system, is there a way to more reliable way to focus this neat lens at f/1.2-2.0?

What are some tips and tricks to using this lens?

  • What are the best Nikon Pre-AI lenses for Nikon DF?

I recently got a Nikon DF and I learned that it is the only DSLR that can use unmodified Nikon Pre-AI lenses. I am mainly a portrait photographer.

    I do have some manual AI lenses like the 50mm f/1.2, a 28mm, and a 105mm.

I was wondering what the best (reasonably priced, cheaper) Nikon Pre-AI (or even non-AI) lenses that I should look for? I am mainly a portrait photographer.

I would prefer to stick with Nikon branded lenses.

  • Swim Sets to help with weight loss question! :)?

I recently started swimming regularly (5-6 days a week) in October 2019 (minus the four months the gym was closed).

I normally swim about 1100-1300m per workout.

I did have a question about swim sets. I have been building a lot of muscle lately I have not really lost a lot of weight.

I was wondering if anyone here had some swim sets that I could do to facilitate weight loss?

  • What is the best way to copy a lot of audiobook CDs to MP3 on Mac OS X Catalina?

I have a TON of audiobooks that I have collected via thrift stores and I was wondering what the best way to copy all of them over to my hard drive so I can listen to them on my iPhone?

If possible, I would like to combine the 5+ CDs of a long audiobook into one file.

Is there an app or piece of software that would do this automatically?

I do have a USB CD Drive on my Mac.

I am currently running Mac OS X Catalina.

  • How to fix an Xbox One (1st gen) Overheating problem?

I just got a for-repair Xbox One today (first gen) very cheap off FB Marketplace. It powers up and plays the games however the Xbox case seems to get extremely hot (infrared thermometer shows 134F and rising before I shut it down). The large fan does seem to spin but it never shifts into a higher speed as it gets hotter.

When I pulled this unit apart it seems like there was some liquid spill over the fan as there was some sticky residue on the heat sink below it. I am not sure if the fan is semi-bad (so I need to replace it), or some liquid got on the CPU/GPU so I need to reapply thermal paste.Again, even with a seemingly bad spill on the CPU//GPU area over the fan, it seems to function as it should minus the overheating problem.I was wondering how I can fix this up?

  • Is my Bose Wave Music System 3 Disc Multi CD Changer Accessory working? *video?

I just got a three-disk Bose Wave Music System 3 Disc Multi-CD Changer Accessory. I do not own a Wave System to fully test this out. I know that these can be sold for good money, especially if it works, so I was wondering if this unit is functioning?

Whenever I plug it in the wall it makes a lot of weird noises and then ejects the disk that is in the drive. I know that I need the Wave Radio to make it work, but I was wondering if this unit is functional?

Here is the attached video of the unit functioning

  • What is the Best Video Game Collection Catalog App/Website?

I am looking for a good app or website that I can use to catalog my video game collection. I would prefer a free app/website or at least one that does not have a monthly fee. It also has to have an iOS-compatible app. I looked at vgcollect but it does not have an iOS app.

    Thanks!

  • How to build a Blank Optical Disk Media Detector with Raspberry Pi? ?

I have a ton of blank CD/DVDs that are mixed together in spindles. Some of them are obviously easy to tell what is blank and not, but some are hard to tell.

I was wondering if there was a way to build a Raspberry Pi Project where I hook up a USB DVD drive and a monitor (or a 16x2 LCD Screen) and I insert a disc and it says "blank" or "not blank"? I do not need it to tell me what is on the disc, just need to know blank or not blank in a short time.

I am new to programming RPi's (I have basically used it as an emulation station), so I was wondering how to program/do this project?

    I have a RPi Zero, 2, and 4.

  • Tips and Tricks for me, a Brand New Charcoal Griller?

I just got my first charcoal grill (size 14-Inch, 14.5" x 14.5" x 15") and I am having a problem find out how many charcoal briquets to use when grilling?

My second question is how long should I wait to put the meat on the grill after initial lighting?

I generally cook salmon, steak, and chicken.

I have googled and searched for this, but most of the information that I find talk about a much larger grill.

  • How to repair (or find someone to repair) a Neon Light?

I just scored a nice Epiphone guitar Neon Light (with a neat guitar inside of it) but the problem is it does not power on. There are no cracks/breaks in the lighting tubes. I was just wondering if:

    1. It is possible to repair this, or

    2. What kind of person/company would repair this?

    3. If I did take it into a repair shop, how much would it cost to repair?

    Thanks a lot! :)

  • How to fix problem with Lionel 18302 slipping wheels on driveshaft to motor?

I have a Lionel 6-18302 Great Northern EP-5 with Pulmor motors that has a problem with the driveshaft.

This is a brand new engine that I have had in the basement for a while. When I recently opened this engine the wheels on the train were frozen. After I manually moved the wheels for a while they became looser. I attempted to run the train, but it ran very slowly on the track.

I used some oil on the train which seemed to fix the problem. However, it was short-lived. The train ran perfectly for a bit but now now it does not seem to be running.

The wheels seem to slip on the driveshaft to the motor.

The wheels still spin as they should when manually moved. The horn works well.

I was wondering how to fix this problem? Thanks!

  • How to convert Quicktime Video Screen Capture to smaller file sizes?

I have about 10 longer Quicktime Video Screen Capture files which are massive (10+GB). I was wondering if there is an app or software that I can bulk shrink the file sizes and/or convert to H.264?

I have google searched for this but most of the search results that I get are junk spammy software.

I am either looking for a reputable paid software or a good freeware/open source software.

I am using Mac OS Catalina

    Thanks a lot!

  • How to Host a Casual Summer Party? (post-social distancing/pandemic) :)?

I am looking to host a summer party (post-social distancing) but I am kind of new to "hosting parties" and do not want it to be too awkward.

I would like it to be a casual, indoors/outdoors event. I am not looking for a crazy/wild party. Just a good time for us to hang out, especially since I have not seen a lot of these people in person for a while.

The people I am inviting are all master s students or young couples so the cheaper the better. The thing that could get weird is the fact that I know the people that I am inviting, but some of these people do not know each other.

    My 2 questions are:

    1. What are things that I could do to be a good host and not make things awkward? (games to play, things to talk about, how to get people to talk to each other, outdoor activities.)

    2. What types of food should I make and/or what food friends should bring?
