Why won’t the post office let me send something as “large envelope” ?
Hi, I was using the shipping calculator, and for a delivery to qualify for “large envelope” it must be no more than 15’x12’ and 3/4” thick, max weight 13oz. My letter is only 6.5” x 9” and 1/4” thick, weighing 2oz, should come out to $1.00 even.
The post office keeps telling me that I have to ship it as a first class package because it’s more than 1/4” thick, and because there’s a small bulged area (1/4” about), I guess they think I’m trying to send merchandise.
The only delivery method that can be no thicker than 1/4” is a regular letter, while the large envelope can be 3/4” thick. I don’t know if they don’t know their own policy from their own website, or if they’re playing games with me. I can’t afford to pay $5 every time I mail something.

2 AnswersOther - Destinations2 weeks agoWhy isn't there a single hotel that accommodates travelers needing a quick stay outside standard check in/out times like for truckers USA?
It's 9am, and I just need a place to sleep for my 10 hour break, then I'll have to get moving again. Yet, if I wait till 3pm to check in, I'd only get 4 hours to sleep before I need to start driving again. I'm just going to sleep in the driver's seat, but it got me wondering, why hasn't one single hotel chain cashed in on what has to be a huge market of people who just need short stays that fall outside regular check-in and out times?
2 AnswersHealth & Safety2 weeks agoUSPS tracking?
Hi!
My friend who lives in the U.S sent me a package to arrive in Australia Melbourne. She sent the item March 26th through USPS. Been tracking it since today and have noticed the last scan on April 9th on USPS says "Your item departed a transfer airport in KINGSFORD SMITH, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA" with the date and time included.
What does this usually mean? Because on AUS POST, the latest scan I have is on March 28th saying "Miami, awaiting international departure"
Is my item in Sydney awaiting to arrive in Melbourne, or is it still in Miami..?
Thanks!
2 AnswersPacking & Preparation2 weeks agoTips for Frequent Travelers?
What are some advice for frequent travelers?
I am starting a new job that spans across 5 states on the east coast. All of which will be by driving with my own personal car. I'm looking for little tips and tricks to make my experience better. (Certain credit cards for cashback, etc). Is there some key things I should ask my employer? Is there some service I can sign up for that will benefit me by me traveling long distances?
3 AnswersPacking & Preparation2 weeks agoWhat would I need to bring with me?
Hi,
I am 22 yrs old. I live in Edmonton and am moving to Banff for the summer to work. Since I will be working in a restaurant in a hotel, I will be able to live there for a fee of course.
The place is furnished, but, I will have to provide many things. Like my own dishes and utensils, but I am not sure what else I will need to take. I know it will be more expensive to buy stuff there so I want to take as much with me as I can.
Does anyone know what kind of things I would need to take?
2 AnswersPacking & Preparation3 weeks agoWhen out alone, what time do you try and get back home ?
If you go somewhere in the evening by yourself, what time do you try and get home considering things like safety and travel time as a lone traveller?
I usually try and get back for 9- 9 30, and will leave a place at 8-9pm as I feel unsafe after 9pm.

1 AnswerPacking & Preparation3 weeks agoEngland Travel Rules : If it's a 'green' country ?
There will be three classifications : Green country, Amber country and Red country.
If I am travelling to a 'green' country, I will have to have a Covid test prior to departure and on arrival back in England.
Who is going to pay for that ? Presumably me. So how much will the tests cost ?
If it's expensive is that not going to discourage international air travel just when the airlines, hotels and travel industry need the business ??
