  What is the process of moving to Germany from USA?

  I would really like to move to Germany in a year to a few years. I've started a German language refresher course. I took Ap German in high school, but am aware that will not get me far. I'd like to find out about the different permits and if it's hard to get accepted into the country. Is there anywhere I can find this information?

  As an Arab woman living in Germany, can I fully integrate?

  As an Arab woman living in Germany, can I fully integrate? I speak fluent German, I want to marry a German man, raise my kids only speaking German. I also love to drink beer and have sex before marriage. Will I ever be accepted by "real" Germans? I have no attachment to Arab identity and LOVE Germany.

  Package mistakenly sent to Germany by USPS?

  The United States Postal Service sucks and somehow a package my girlfriend sent me from the United States (Georgia specifically) to me in Ontario, Canada was instead sent to Germany.

  Wrong continent, USPS.

  We have been told there is nothing USPS can do as when it leaves the USA they have no control over it. I would have thought putting it on the wrong plane might fall under their responsibility but I guess not. It’s just Calvin Ball up in here.

  Anyway, grousing aside, I wanted to know how on earth I contact the German postal service because it has been long enough that they should have returned-to-sender by now (it has been over a month). 

  Looking online all I have found is contact information for businesses not personal mail, plus the tracking number is not showing up in any German tracking. I need to figure out who to call or email but I can’t figure it out because this isn’t normal situation and there doesn’t seem to be any way for me to figure it out through the normal channels.

  Best city in Germany?

  I will be going to Germany for the first time in March/April time. I’m wondering where the best place to go is for a first time visitor. The two planes I had in mind were Berlin and Frankfurt but I’m open to more suggestions and why you would pick to go there. Thank you.

  No country deports its own nationals.

  There might be a fine or jailtime if it gets brought before a judge.

  At the very least it would affect your chances of getting hired

  What is it like being mixed race in Germany?

  Favourite answer:

  You will be seen as American first, and whatever ethnicity second. That may be good or bad- some Germans are not fond of Americans, either. But a lot of what is perceived as racism is really classism, and the ire of the right in Germany is focused mostly on Muslim immigrants right now. Just as in the US, conservatives somehow fear that immigrants will displace them- take their jobs and whatever they've achieved. You will not be seen that way.

  Here's an example of what I mean- I have read that representatives from African countries to the UN in New York have learned that they are treated better if they wear some garment that identifies them as African- the colorful shoulder shawl or the hat- even if they wouldn't wear those back home. The racism is against poor blacks in the US, and when the reps are seen as affluent enough to be traveling to New York, and probably as UN representatives, they are much more respected. It's about social class, not race.

  My mom and I bought one way tickets to Germany (from USA) bc I have to take 3 entry exams at different unis. Will we be allowed in Germany?

  I will stay in Germany and apply for a residence permit once I get accepted into a university there, and my mom is coming to help me with visa, phone, bank, and apartment stuff. I read that sometimes they don’t let you in Germany if you don’t have proof of return or visa. I don’t have a visa yet or a ticket back. (We are leaving next month) I do have invitation letters for the entry exam from the universities but I don’t get acceptance letters until end of August. What should I do or should I even be worried?
