I don't even know where to start. So I'm 17 and I'm moving to perth next year to start my new life away from my family and past shitty experiences relationship wise and my shit job as a dishwasher. I've been really anxious about moving because I don't know what career I want to do... Stupid I know. I don't just want a job. I'm really anxious around people so I thought maybe cheffing or hairdressing since I can do them. But there's another thing I don't want to run out of money before I get a job... I haven't been lucky with jobs in the past maybe because I have snakebites idk . Just to top it off there's this guy in Perth that I've known for ages who I'm going to date he is also a factor in my decision of career ..,, I just need advice . Career, relationship, moving and getting away from my family. I really don't want to run out of moneh

So I'm a kitchenhand at the moment. A lot of the chefs at my restaurant started as kitchenhands... But were kitchenhands for years. I don't wanna be a dishwasher for years. If another position arises I'm allowed to apply. But they're kitchen is already fully staffed and I don't think they would hire a apprentice chef. I can get a apprenticeship at another restaurant, advice please

So I've been a kitchenhand for nearly a week, I'm getting faster and the chefs help me clean and stuff and everyone's really nice. I took the job because I need the money and got told at the interview there's potential for me to learn other positions. I don't want to be a kitchenhand forever, got my contract yesterday and asked them about progressing. They said if I show potential. So I'm going to hand it in today and ask if another postition arises can apply? And explain that I'm really keen to be wait staff or become a apprentice or something. I've still got a couple of jobs on hold and it's in my routine to apply for other jobs (was job hunting for 7months). So pretty much if I can not advance and learn another position, should I accept another job that can teach me more? Would it be bad quiting after only being there a couple of months? I don't want to stay there if I'm just gonna be a dishwasher forever

So at the moment I'm a dishwasher. Monday - Wednesday 4 to around 10/10.30 and on Friday 4 to around 11/11.30 so around 25 hours.

I'm currently a kitchenhand. But when I move to Australia I wanna become a chef. I just have a few questions.

- Should I do a apprenticeship or courses? What takes longer? What's better?

- If I do the course path. How will I support myself with no income and being only able to work like one day a week? Will I be able to get a job without 1-2 years post qualification experience?

- Apprenticeship. Can I survive on so little money a week? How many hours do apprentices work? Is it easy to get a apprenticeship? What are there main duties? And would I be able to go from kitchenhand to apprentice at my current restaurant and continue in Australia?

- How many hours do chefs usually work? Or how many do you work? Are cafes, bistros and bars easier to work in than Restaurants and Cafes? Is it a good amount of money to survive on?

If anyone could answer some of these questions it would be great! Chef or not.

What's better? I have one lip ring but I had snakebites and before that shark bites but took them out for my job. Do you like spiderbites on guys? Or snakebites? Or just one lip ring?

So I had a interview on Friday and I'm suppose to find out if I get a trial. It was for wait staff at a bar, I've got another interview today as a kitchenhand at another bar. Then one for another bar and a supermarket on Tuesday. If I get offered more than one what one should I take? What should I say? Like if they offer me a job today I don't just wanna be like yes and screw the ones on Tuesday
