I’ve been hearing many people referencing songs to this musical, and cannot find any information on what the plot is about? Can anyone help clear this up for me?

  • Starting a voice acting career outside of America?

Bit of context before delving into my situation, I am interested in making voice acting a full-time career. It's been a few months since I started taking voice acting seriously (going for lessons, sending in auditions for small projects etc) and I have been somewhat successful in lending my voice for both paid and unpaid projects.

I want to start getting contracts with bigger companies, however I realise that most of these companies are based in LA and require a agent to be able to get in contact with such companies. The problem about this is that I live in Southeast Asia and cannot be there physically because of 1) financial issues and 2) Covid not allowing me to travel to many countries.

Hence, I'm very lost on what to do right now. Do I reach out to talent agencies, get a agent or just stick to local talent companies (which is non-existent where I live) and/or smaller projects that don't require me to be there physically? Please do help me out with this, I want to make this dream of mine a reality and I don't have anyone around me that is connected to the VA industry.

P.s Apologies if some parts don't make sense, I'm struggling to put this situation into concise sentences.

  • This year is my third year getting Rejected from drama school.. are there any other good routes to get into the acting industry? ?

I work two jobs and actively take acting classes but I’m finding the rejection especially hard this year because I am almost 20 and feel like I’m dragging behind. I am a good actress and have worked hard to get where I am but am struggling where to go next. I always thought drama school was the only way. Any tips ?

  • Is it normal to laugh when doing vocal characterizations and impressions?

Hi. I have been trying my hand at doing vocal characterizations for my own OC's and doing vocal characterizations. I have a series of recordings I made that I saved in my smartphone that I want to upload to Vocaroo. I have the potential to be a good voice actor. I still want to learn how to voice act professionally. I signed up for a voice over training program - I am waiting till I get a voice over mic and the things I need to turn my den into a sound studio.

Is it normal to laugh when doing vocal characterizations and impressions? It's healthy to laugh but I try not to laugh when doing this.

    Please help. Thank you.

  • Should I go to this casting call?

I say an online ad for a casting call for an actor in an adult movie. The pay was great.  One of the qualifications was to “keep it up for an hour”.  I wonder what they want me to keep up for an our? I can certainly say my lines for an hour?

    Any ideas?

  • Silent Monologue?

    Hi,

I have an assignment for a silent monologue coming up, and had trouble coming up with ideas (I was thinking of packing for a late flight, but thought that was a bit too simple). Do you have any ideas for one?

    Thank you

  • Does keeping a journal as the characters you're playing help you get into character?

I feel like it helps me have a better understanding of who my character is and as I write in it I find myself feeling angry and happy and sad as them depending on what they are going through. I feel like it makes my connection with them so much more personal.

Does anyone else use this method?

  • Voice acting lessons?

Hey there community! Just out of curiosity if there are any sites that are teaching voice acting lessons; i.e: for cartoons and animation mostly..That have one on one live lessons and aren't just prerecorded.

I know it's nearly impossible to get a class not online for anything due to the pandemic..But I just feel listening to prerecorded messages won't really help me improve. If anyone knows anything please let me know!

    Thank you!

When I was that age I was in love with an actress who was already 31 years old at the time.
